My first documentary, Farm to Trailer, got some great press when it came out and I was really overwhelmed by the support that many of the local Austin blogs and news outlets gave it. With the release of my second doc, Charcuterie, just this last Thursday, I've been shocked at how many people have picked it up and ran with it.
The biggest news so far has been the doc showing up on The Huffington Post, a site that I visit 3-4 times a day for news and info. I'm a big fan of Arianna Huffington and I think she's done an amazing thing with that site, and so having my doc show up on it was really a milestone for me.
Charcuterie was also picked up by Addie Broyles, one of Austin's leading food bloggers and contributor to Austin-360 which is the Austin American-Statesman's website. The Eater, who were also big supporters of Farm to Trailer, posted about the short. And finally, one of the coolest posts about the film came from Inside Scoop SF which is the blog for the San Francisco Gate. Being a Bay Area native, it felt great to get some love from my home town.
In the past 60+ hours, Charcuterie has been watched over 1200 times which is astounding to me. By comparison, Farm to Trailer (my most popular of the 12 Films) has been watched about 1800 times in the last 2 months.
I should have some news soon about the August film which is almost certainly going to be another music video. I enjoyed making Stars Fall so much, that I really want to try my hand at another music video. September is probably going to be another mood piece like 360 and then October is going to be another documentary. November and December...not quite sure yet. I want to get at least one more narrative in there, but maybe I'll do two more, finish the year out the way I started.
One of my friends is a member of Farmhouse Deliveries CSA, and said she got an email reminding people that they can add Kocurek Charcuterie to their weekly deliveries that included your film.
They also tweeted "Love this deep look into the history and traditions of charcuterie. Plus, LeeAnn Kocurek is super cute with the giggles! http://t.co/WWIVCRz

That's so funny! I'm seriously amazed at how much this has been re-tweeted and spread around the internet.
We had the Kocurek's over for dinner last night and we teased her a little about the giggling.
