I've reached the halfway point in this project and, honestly, it feels incredible. I sat down this morning and watched all six of the films, just to get a perspective, and it's a great feeling. Watching the films, I felt like there was a real progression in terms of quality, both in the technical side and in the ideas. My first goal in this project is to get better as a filmmaker. Better at the technical side and better at telling stories, whether it's through a narrative, music video, documentary or whatever.
I was going to do a film-by-film breakdown, but I think I'll save that for the end...once I'm done with all twelve. For now, I'm pushing ahead with the July film, a documentary about Charcuterie. Making HEIST-OFF! last weekend made me want to get back to narrative films, so I'm thinking about trying to get the cast back together for a film in August or September. I've also found another subject for a mood-piece that I'm probably going to try and shoot this fall.
It's been a fun six months and I'm really looking forward to the last half of this project.
